I made these for a few reasons. One was that I had some blueberries from my grandparents’ garden, and I didn’t want them to go bad before I could eat them. Also, I wanted to make something that wasn’t dessert for a change. I had been asked previously to make blueberry muffins, so I figured that I had found my chance.

I made a double batch, to make sure that everyone got one. I heard some people say they ate 2, 3, even 6. Crazy. I didn’t have enough home grown blueberries to make both batches, so I used half frozen. The problem with frozen blueberries is that if you’re not careful, the batter will turn blue. It usually turns blue no matter what.
